NUCCA Chiropractic Care in Cooper City

NUCCA Chiropractic is a gentle and safe form of chiropractic. It focuses on aligning the skull and atlas for long-lasting results.

Over 40 years ago, the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA) developed a highly advanced procedure that is an extremely precise and very gentle technique. It is unlike any other kind of spinal care you may have experienced with any other type of chiropractor. When your spine is subjected to stress, it can become misaligned, causing Atlas Subluxation Complex Syndrome (ASC syndrome). With our current lifestyle, we are subject to many more stressors than previous generations and all of them can affect our spines.

Using NUCCA Chiropractic, we can correct your misalignment by hand to open nerve channels, improve nerve function and restore health and healing to the body.

A NUCCA spinal adjustment is designed to restore balance not only to your neck, but throughout your entire spine. A balanced spine has the best opportunity to heal. An atlas misalignment creates muscle imbalance throughout the entire body, making you vulnerable to injury and decay. Over time, spinal imbalance can affect some if not all of the tissues and joints of the body. Our goal is to restore body balance by removing any interference to the nervous system allowing the body to heal itself, naturally. divider

How is NUCCA Different?

  • Force is much lighter
  • Comfort Level is higher
  • Proof of Correction is higher
  • Stability is higher
  • Accuracy is higher

What Does This Mean for You?

  • You feel better faster
  • You hold your alignment longer
  • You reach optimal health sooner

Your Health Concerns

Once an Atlas Subluxation Complex is present and disrupting the spinal nerves and spinal cord, it can create many different secondary conditions or symptoms. The reason these are called secondary conditions is because they are a result of the primary spinal misalignment, or the underlying cause. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If your symptoms are a direct result of your spinal misalignment, you can experience some relief immediately. Recovery from the long-term effects of your spinal misalignment, however will take longer, it takes about one month for each year the spine has been misaligned. Can You Help a Person Who Has Had Back Surgery? Can Back Surgery Sometimes Be Prevented? »

Absolutely! Many of our patients have come to us to prevent spinal surgery. Some have been told they had no other option than to get surgery. We have seen patients who have already had surgery, but still have their original symptoms, or new ones. We are not opposed to surgery when necessary, but many times it can be avoided by correcting the spinal misalignment. Our procedure is safe even if you have had laminectomies, fused vertebrae, or disc removal. We have a very conservative approach to spine and spine-related problems. Drug therapy only masks symptoms, allowing the problem to worsen. Anything that cannot recover completely may require rehabilitation. Surgery can become necessary for anything that cannot recover or be rehabilitated.

Is Chiropractic Care Addictive? »

No, but it is possible to get used to feeling more balanced, less stressed and more energetic as a result of regular chiropractic care.

Why Do You Use X-Rays in Your Practice? »

We take X-rays to reveal the alignment of your spine. We are also concerned about underlying disease processes such as degenerative disc and joint disease, arthritis, disc disorders, tumors, congenital anomalies, bone spurs, and spinal curvature. X-rays also provide a blueprint for correcting your spine back to a normally aligned position and to check for progress that you not only feel but can see as well.

Aren’t X-Rays Really Bad For You? »

All radiation is bad for you but people are exposed to it everyday. You are exposed to it when you walk outside in the sun, choose to get on an airplane or talk on your mobile phone. Radiation is measured in millirem. A round-trip cross country flight on a commercial airline exposes each passenger to 2.5 millirem of radiation. A NUCCA x-ray series (three views) is .22 millirem, which means you would have to take more than 10 sets of NUCCA x-rays to equal just one round-trip flight.

What Education Do NUCCA Chiropractors Have? »

To become a Chiropractor, in addition to undergraduate school, a 3 year doctorate program must be completed and the doctor must pass the National Board Examinations. In addition, NUCCA Doctors also study the NUCCA procedure and attend training seminars outside of required working hours for an additional 1-2 years before proficiency is met. After that, they continue their education semi-annually at NUCCA Conferences. NUCCA Certification levels provide clinical experience goals.

Who Should Be Checked for Spinal Subluxation? »

Many people have their spine misaligned for years before any pain or symptoms develop. Chiropractic is good at getting sick people well, but even better at keeping the well from getting sick.

Is Keeping My Spine Corrected All I Need To Do To Stay Healthy and Well? »

It is not the only thing you need to do but it is certainly a large part of staying healthy and well. Good nutrition, exercise, rest, an aligned spine, psychological, spiritual and emotional wellness: All of these combined are necessary for optimal health and well-being.

Do Children Benefit From Chiropractic Care? »

For sure! The best time to have your spine corrected is right after it happens. For a lot of us, injuries happen when we are little. Children suffer from traumatic injuries and experience neurological symptoms that may indicate their spine is misaligned (ear infections, bradycardia, asthma, allergies). Bring in your child for a free spinal evaluation. Help them grow into happy, healthy adults.

If you need to speak with Dr. Granger, we are always eager to help you out. If we are with a patient, we may need to call you back during business hours or after hours. divider
